A look inside
This is where your own photos go — the cabinet first thing in the morning, the cheese scones, the little room at the back where it all gets made.
From Devon farmers' markets to Southwold High Street
Jakery Bakery started life in Devon, where Charlotte O'Bryen spent years selling her bakes at farmers' markets. After moving to Suffolk she took the whole bakery gluten-free — customers kept asking for it, and her husband eats gluten-free too — and in 2021, after a decade of markets, she opened the shop at 38 High Street.
Everything is baked in the back room in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen: Doves Farm organic flour for the sweet things, Hodmedod's yellow pea flour for the savoury, Green Farm coffee from Norwich in the cups. The bakes also go out to Old Hall Café in Reydon and to Focus Organic and The Greenhouse in Halesworth, and Charlotte makes celebration cakes to order with five days' notice.
